Backwater

So this year I have to do a 4-week Rural Placement for medicine. The rules as they currently stand are:

1. Must be a place more rural than Townsville
2. Must be for four straight weeks
3. You Pay for it.

So now I have to run off to some little backwater town for four weeks in winter, at my own expense, to be allowed to continue being taught medicine, which I am forced to pay for as well. However, if I DON'T go, they'll make me pay for this year anyway, as well as make me do the whole year over again, meaning I'll have to pay for the placement again. Finally, if I pay for the placement, do it well, but fail anything else, I will have to repeat the year, paying for the placement and the year TWICE. The point I'm making is essentially "stupid expensive course".

Anyway, the point of this post is to collect ideas. Anyone know of a nice little backwater I can visit for four weeks? Or, because that question probably doesn't have an answer, where is the last place in Australia you would want to spend four whole weeks? Anybody?

Go to Ayr and pretend you're one of those big city people who spend over hour commuting to work each day.
